Overview

DreamGift is an AI gift recommendation service. Its assistant, called Bliss, acts as a personal gift shopper: you describe the person you are buying for and the occasion, and it suggests personalised and original gift ideas. You can chat on the DreamGift website or use it inside ChatGPT.
How it works
You start a chat and tell Bliss about the recipient, such as their age, relationship to you, hobbies, tastes and your budget. Bliss asks follow-up questions and proposes ideas that match. Because it is a conversation, you can refine the list by saying what you like or do not like about the suggestions, rather than scrolling through a static gift guide.
Occasions and recipients
DreamGift says it covers more than 40 types of events, including birthdays, holidays, weddings, anniversaries, housewarmings, graduations, retirements, Hanukkah, baby showers, quinceañeras, bar and bat mitzvahs, new jobs, promotions, get well and sympathy gifts. Browsable gift idea pages are organised by recipient, from partners, parents and grandparents to teachers, coworkers, bosses, clients, neighbours, coaches and nurses.
Press coverage
The site quotes coverage from The New York Times, where a writer said his wife liked some of the bot's suggestions, such as an indoor herb-growing kit, and from Fast Company, which reported that colleagues used it to find gifts.
Pricing
DreamGift is free to use. Like most gift recommendation sites, it may earn commissions when you buy suggested products through its links.
Who it suits
DreamGift suits people who are stuck for ideas, shoppers buying for someone they do not know well, such as a colleague or client, and anyone planning gifts for several people at once.
Things to consider
Suggestions are a starting point. Check prices, reviews, delivery times and return policies on the retailer's site before buying, especially near holidays. The more specific you are about the person's interests, the better the results, so mention details like favourite activities, recent life changes and things they already own. A thoughtful note or a shared experience can matter more than the item itself.
If Bliss suggests something close but not quite right, ask for alternatives in a different price range or style, which usually produces a better shortlist.
