Overview

Novastart describes itself as an "infinite canvas OS": a desktop app that turns your computer's screen into a zoomable whiteboard where every app you use becomes a window with a fixed place. Instead of stacking windows and switching between them, you lay out Chrome, Gmail, Excel, WhatsApp, Notion and other apps side by side, zoom in to work on one and zoom out to see the whole project. It is made by Marketplace Distributors LLC, based in Manhattan Beach, California.
The infinite canvas
Each canvas is one infinite desktop, and folders hold canvases the way a folder holds files. You can keep separate canvases for work, school, travel, finances or research, and Novastart saves them so every app, position and tab is where you left it the next day. The company says all plans open the same apps: Gmail, Excel, WhatsApp, Notion and around thirty more as real signed-in windows, any website in a bundled Chrome, plus ONLYOFFICE and Linux apps.
AI agents
Up to 10 AI agents can work on a task at once, each with its own mouse and keyboard. In the example on the site, one lead agent plans a ski trip, opens a window for each part of the job, assigns a named helper to each and collects their results into a spreadsheet. You keep your own cursor, can pause all agents at once, type a correction mid-run or take a window back at any time.
Team collaboration
On the Team plan, you share a canvas rather than your screen. Each teammate gets their own cursor and can click and type in each other's windows, which are streamed machine to machine with no server in the middle, according to the pricing page. There is built-in chat, and a shared canvas stays as the team left it.
Pricing
From the official pricing page, checked October 2026:
- Free: all apps, limited to 1 folder, 2 canvases and 4 windows per canvas.
- Pro: $10 per month, with unlimited folders, canvases and windows.
- Team: $20 per month, adding team collaboration.
AI agents are paid separately on every plan at $0.02 per use, drawn from credits bought in amounts of $25 or more.
Who it suits
People who juggle many apps and projects at once, small teams who are tired of screen sharing, and anyone curious about handing multi-step computer tasks to AI agents they can watch and correct. The site notes it works best on a laptop or desktop.
Pros: a genuinely different way to organise apps; agents can be watched and interrupted; free plan to try it.
Cons: requires installing a desktop app; agent use costs extra on top of the plan; a new interface means a learning curve.
