Overview

Sup is a bot for Slack, Microsoft Teams and Webex that runs asynchronous standups and tracks time off. The idea is to replace routine status meetings with a short set of questions that each person answers in their own time, followed by one clear summary. The site says it is used in more than 4,000 workspaces and has collected 1.7 million responses.
Async standups
You set the questions, such as what you did yesterday, what you will do today and whether anything is blocking you, and choose when they are sent, for example each morning or each Monday. Team members answer in chat, and Sup posts a summary. This avoids long meetings and works well across time zones.
Follow-ups and reporting
The standup plan includes unlimited follow-ups, both conversational and dialog-based, multiple pre-built templates, anonymous mood tracking, unlimited reporting history, a daily follow-up summary and a Google Sheets integration. Mood tracking gives managers an early signal if a team is struggling, without naming individuals.
Leave tracking and polls
Sup also tracks holidays and PTO so the team knows who is away, and it can run quick polls and surveys in the same chat tool.
Pricing
Pricing depends on team size, with options for up to 100 members and for more than 100. The Stand-ups plan is listed at 29 dollars a month for the smaller tier. Other plans cover leave tracking and combined features, so check the pricing page for the bundle you need.
Who it suits
Sup suits remote and hybrid teams, engineering and product teams that run daily standups, and managers who want a regular update without another calendar invite.
Things to consider
Async standups work best when someone reads the summaries and acts on blockers; otherwise they become a box-ticking exercise. Keep the question list short so answers stay quick. Agree as a team on how mood data will be used, so people feel safe answering honestly. Check the permissions the bot requests when you install it in your workspace. A trial with one team is a simple way to see whether it reduces meeting time.
It is a simple way to keep a team informed.
