Overview

NightCafe is an AI art generator built around a community. You can create images from a text prompt, make short videos from a prompt or a still, design a consistent character and reuse it, and edit images with prompts. But the part that keeps people coming back is social: you share images and prompts, chat with other creators, and enter daily AI art challenges. NightCafe says more than 30 million creators use it.
NightCafe gathers many of the popular models in one place. The homepage features Google's Nano Banana 2 for images and Seedance 2.0 for video, and the PRO plans open up more than 50 PRO image models, including Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image and Seedream, along with Flux variants, HiDream and others. Community fine-tuned models and shareable templates add more variety.
Free vs PRO
You can start with no payment or card. Free accounts can create with the free models. PRO plans add a monthly pool of Fast Credits that work on any model, unlimited use of some lighter models, relax credits, no ads, private templates and search, consistent characters and animation.
Prices on the official pricing page, checked October 2026, shown for annual billing (which NightCafe says saves 40%; quarterly saves 15%):
- AI Hobbyist: $7.49/month ($89.91 a year), 200 Fast Credits a month.
- AI Enthusiast: $14.99/month ($179.91 a year), 500 Fast Credits.
- AI Creator: $23.99/month ($287.93 a year), 850 Fast Credits.
- AI Artist: $37.49/month ($449.91 a year), 1,400 Fast Credits.
Paying monthly costs more; the page shows the Hobbyist plan at $12.50 on monthly billing. Extra Fast Credits cost between $0.036 and $0.05 each depending on the plan, and purchased credits don't expire. Payments go through Paddle or PayPal, and you can pause, delay or cancel at any time.
Who it suits
Hobbyists who enjoy the community side, the challenges and seeing other people's prompts, and casual creators who want access to many models without paying each provider. Professionals focused on client work may prefer a tool built around private projects and editing.
Pros: a real free option; lots of top models in one account; a friendly, active community.
Cons: the credit system differs by model and takes time to learn; the best models cost Fast Credits; public sharing is the default culture, so check privacy settings before uploading personal photos.
Alternatives
Leonardo.Ai and Krea are stronger on professional tools. Craiyon is the simplest free option, and Tensor.Art focuses on community-hosted models.
