Talkatoo is AI scribe, dictation and assistant software built for veterinary practices. It turns exam-room conversations into complete medical records, with the aim of having notes done before the next appointment. Talkatoo says it is the top-rated AI scribe on Capterra and is used by more than 30,000 veterinary professionals worldwide. Its founder, Shawn Wilkie, hosts the Veterinary Innovation Podcast.
Auto-Records and call summaries
Auto-Records listens to the consultation and writes a record in the format you prefer, so vets can focus on the animal and the client rather than typing. Call Summary records and summarises phone calls, so you do not need to take notes while talking to a pet owner.
Auto Follow-Up
Auto Follow-Up builds on the record. The AI proposes a follow-up plan with questions and reminders. You review it, adjust it and schedule it, and Talkatoo then starts a text conversation with the pet parent at the chosen time. The AI collects key information, flags cases that need attention and creates a summary. You can take over at any time, send messages manually and copy the summary into your practice management system.
AI Assistant and dictation
The AI Assistant handles admin tasks such as summarising long records and drafting procedure, dental and radiology reports and discharge instructions. Talkatoo says it can save up to 10 hours a week. Desktop Dictation lets you dictate into your practice management system, emails or anywhere you can type, and there are desktop and mobile apps.
