Overview

ImagePipeline is an image generation API built for product and fashion commerce. It lets developers and ecommerce teams create studio-quality catalogue imagery, including product shots, model swaps and virtual try-on, while keeping a consistent model identity across many images. It is a developer-first service with enterprise controls.
What it does
Endpoints cover image editing, such as placing a product on a model from a prompt like on model, emerald drop earrings, and identity replacement, which swaps the model while keeping the outfit. Other features include background replacement, relighting and ad creative. You can lock elements such as identity and outfit so results stay consistent across a catalogue. The site says it is tuned for sharp faces, readable text and true-to-product detail.
Developer features
Jobs run asynchronously. You submit a request, then poll the status endpoint or receive a webhook when the result is ready. Typed SDKs are available for Python and JavaScript. Identity profiles store consistent model looks.
Safety and compliance
Every output includes AI disclosure through IPTC metadata and an invisible watermark, which the site says makes it ready for Article 50 of the EU AI Act. Faces are not stored and are discarded after each job, and result links expire after 24 hours, so you need to save outputs yourself. Output is described as licensed.
Pricing
Billing is based on processing time, and queue time and failed jobs are not charged. The Pro plan is about 166 dollars per month on yearly billing and includes 200 dollars of API calls, all image endpoints, 10 identity profiles, async jobs and webhooks, with overage at 0.0012 dollars per second. The site gives an example of about 0.028 dollars per image. Studio and custom Enterprise tiers are offered for larger volumes.
Who it is for
It fits ecommerce platforms, fashion brands and agencies that produce large catalogues and have developers to integrate an API.
Things to consider
It is not a point-and-click app, so non-technical teams will need help. Check that product details such as colour, texture and fit stay accurate, since misleading images lead to returns. Follow marketplace rules on AI-generated imagery.
Run a test with a few products first to compare quality and cost per image with your current photo shoots.
