Overview

Fireflies.ai is a meeting notetaker. Its bot, which shows up as "Fred" (fred@fireflies.ai), joins your Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams calls, records them, and sends back a transcript and summary when the call ends. You can invite it to a single meeting or let it auto-join everything on your calendar.
Not every situation suits a bot sitting in the call, and Fireflies has other ways in. A Chrome extension records Google Meet without the bot, the mobile app handles in-person conversations, there's a desktop app, and you can upload MP3, MP4, WAV or M4A files. Sales teams can also pipe in calls from dialers like Aircall and RingCentral.
After the meeting
Summaries come as an overview, bullet points and action items. AskFred lets you ask questions across past meetings ("what did we agree on pricing with Acme?"), and search goes down to the exact sentence and timestamp. Fireflies also offers 200+ "AI Skills" for things like drafting follow-up emails or scoring candidates, conversation analytics (talk time, sentiment, topic trackers), and an MCP server that brings meeting data into Claude or ChatGPT. Notes can flow to CRMs, project tools, ATS platforms and Slack.
One caveat from Fireflies' own FAQ: English is the primary language, and Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian and 100+ others are supported in beta.

- Enterprise: $39 per seat/month, annual only. SSO, SCIM, HIPAA, private storage, custom retention.
Is it a good fit?
For sales, recruiting and customer-facing teams who live in back-to-back calls, yes, mostly. The searchable archive is the real value once a few months of meetings pile up. Solo users may find the free tier's 400-minute storage cap fills quickly.
Pros: works across the main meeting platforms plus files and dialers; a usable free plan with no time limit; SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA compliance listed.
Cons: non-English languages are still in beta; sign-up only works through Google or Outlook accounts; some participants won't be comfortable with a bot joining the call, so tell people first.
Alternatives
Otter.ai is the long-standing rival. Fathom and tl;dv are other popular notetakers, and Gong goes deeper on sales analytics.
