Overview

Recraft is an AI image tool made with designers in mind, and its standout feature is one most generators don't offer: it can create real vector graphics, editable files rather than flat pictures that only look like vectors. That makes it useful for logos, icons and illustrations that need to scale or be edited later.
Recraft has its own image models (the latest named on the homepage is Recraft V4.1 Flash) and puts them in a workspace called Recraft Studio, where you can also use frontier models from other companies on paid plans. Recraft highlights accurate prompt understanding, design-ready typography and production-ready graphic design.
Styles and tools
Custom styles are a big part of the product. You drop in a few of your own images and Recraft turns them into a reusable, editable style without any training step, which helps teams keep a consistent look. The Studio also includes an image vectoriser, vector generator, photo editor, mockup generator, upscaler, background remover and eraser. There's an API for image and vector generation, editing, background removal, inpainting, outpainting and batch jobs.
Plans and pricing
From the official pricing page, checked October 2026 (prices exclude VAT; paying annually saves 20%):
- Free: limited free credits, 3 generations per style per day, Recraft models only. Images are public, owned by Recraft and not for commercial use.
- Basic: $10/month billed annually ($120), 1,000 credits a month, other models such as Nano Banana, Seedream, GPT Image and Flux, commercial rights and private generations.
- Pro: $16/month billed annually ($192), 2,000 credits, video generation with models such as Kling, Veo and Seedance, priority generation. Larger credit options are offered.
- Teams: $18 per seat per month billed annually, 2,000 credits per seat, shared workspace and styles, central billing, SSO and 24/7 support.
Monthly plan credits reset each cycle and don't roll over. Top-up credits never expire. If you cancel, images made while subscribed stay private and yours. Monthly prices are higher; see recraft.ai/pricing.
Who should use it
Graphic designers, brand teams, illustrators and print-on-demand sellers who need vectors, consistent styles or mockups. People who only want fun images may find the free plan's limits and public images a drawback.
Pros: true vector output; custom styles from a few images; clear ownership rules on paid plans.
Cons: free images are public and not for commercial use; video needs Pro; credit costs vary by model.
Alternatives
For general design layouts, Canva is easier. Kittl is aimed at similar designers, and Looka is focused on logos and brand kits.
