Overview

ImageKit.io is a media lifecycle platform for websites and apps. It optimises, transforms and delivers images and videos in real time, manages assets in a digital asset management (DAM) system it calls agentic, and helps teams create on-brand creatives at scale. The company says it is used by 300,000 users and more than 3,000 businesses in 85 countries.
Image and video processing
ImageKit automatically delivers each image in the lightest modern format, such as AVIF or WebP, that the viewer's device supports. Through URL-based transformations you can resize, crop, add overlays and apply more than 50 other transformations in real time, and video can be optimised and streamed from the same platform. Media is delivered through a global CDN.
Agentic DAM and MCP
The built-in DAM stores, organises and shares media. You can also keep media in your own Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage or Azure Blob storage and deliver it through ImageKit. New MCP servers let you work with your media from AI assistants such as Claude and Cursor, so an agent can search, upload or transform assets.
Creative automation
Creative automation tools help produce on-brand creatives at scale, such as variations of banners and product images for different channels.
One platform
ImageKit's pitch is that it replaces a CDN, image API, video streaming service, DAM and creative tool with one platform, one bill and one support team. SDKs, APIs and native integrations connect it with existing stacks. The company says it stores petabytes of media and delivers billions of optimised assets a month, and that it is ISO 27001, SOC 2 and GDPR compliant.
Pricing
You can start free, and paid plans are described as transparent and predictable, with unlimited transformations. Talk to sales for enterprise needs. Check the pricing page for bandwidth, storage and video limits.
Who it suits
It suits developers, ecommerce teams and media-heavy businesses that want faster pages and less image handling work.
Things to consider
Bandwidth and video usage can drive costs as traffic grows, so estimate usage before committing. Moving image URLs to a new service requires planning for caching, SEO and fallbacks. Review MCP permissions before letting AI agents modify or delete assets.
